Points Module is a helpful tool If you need to monitor attendance, study hours, volunteer hours, or any other sort of event that you need to track for your chapter, you will use the Points Module. The Points Module allows you to track different types of events, who attended them, and track hours if needed. You can use this to assign points or track other metrics based on your chapter’s policies.
To access the points module you will go to the member dashboard and scroll to the “Points Management” tile > CLICK GO> Add Event or Manage existing events.
To create a new event, click “Add Event”. Enter the following event details:
- Event Date – The date the event occurred
- Event Type- Categorize the event, use an existing category or create a new one by clicking “Add event Type”
- Event Value- How many points or number of hours accrued
- Description – Detailed Information on what the event is or what is being tracked, Here you can add specifics such as semester
Pro Tip: You can leverage the point’s module for other metrics such as Study Hours, Philanthropy/volunteer hours, Pledging events,s or Brother's Signatures.
Once the event is created you can then manage the event. You can edit the event by clicking “Edit”, or you can delete events by clicking “Remove”.
Record Members:
Locate the event and click “Record Members”. Move the members that have attended the event to the right-hand side by clicking the blue (+) so they are moved to the right-hand column. Any member that is on the right-hand Colum will be counted for the event and point value.
NOTE: By clicking on the EVENT vs MEMBER tab, you can sort the information to see the data based on the person or event. You can easily access full reporting on who attended the event or all the events tracked for a particular member.
Member Portal:
Members then can view the number of points they have accumulated by going to the points tab on the member portal. This gives members visibility and a record of how active of a member they are by seeing their attendance at events or how many hours they have completed for regulations such as Study hours.
Pro Tip: Tacking your member’s attendance will give you the data needed to see how active your members are and track attendance at events to gauge success. Additionally, it may come in handy during a judicial hearing or deciding who is qualified to run for a position. Formalizing the process will just further legitimize your chapter’s events and encourage the need/expectation for attendance.
NOTE: If needed, greekbill can create a specific role for the chapter’s secretary or position to have access just to the point’s page. If you intercede in this, just reach out to your GB rep.
